I am a regular shopper at Stop & Shop in Wallingford and have been buying your products ever since seeing them on the shelves... I would also like to mention that if I'm going to indulge in ice cream calories then I want only the best ice cream. As such, I would only buy Häagen-Dazs in the past, but since your ice cream started showing up in the freezer I buy only yours. It is delicious and doesn't contain all the garbage ingredients found in so many other brands. I know I am not alone in putting high value on purer products. Vanilla and coffee are the two flavors I stick to so you offer everything I need.

The quality of your products and commitment to not use artificial growth hormones is why I support your cooperative...

I just wanted to express how pleased I am with your eggs.  I used to buy Eggland's Best, but took a chance on your product during a store (Geissler's) promotion.  Your eggs are far superior!  The yolk is a golden, rich yellow, the yolk sits high atop the white (a sign of freshness), and the taste is wonderful.  Your eggs are now the only eggs I'll buy for my family.  They cost more, but I feel it is worth it to obtain a fresh, quality product.

I am currently a fan of Hood milk, but may give your milk products a try when/if they go on a store promotion as well. Thank you.

I am a CT resident and I have always loved your milk and feel strongly about supporting local agriculture. I am thrilled to see your product line increasing and I tell everybody to buy your foods! I have a backyard flock of chickens who produce great eggs, except during November, December and January. I have tried all the eggs on the market and NONE compare to yours. They are like my own with strong shells, whites that hold together nicely and orange yolks. The way they are supposed to be. There is nothing worse than a pale yellow egg yolk. Your eggs are as good as any backyard freshly laid egg! Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping Connecticut green and delicious!

Your products................are absolutely delicious!

Our refrigerator is full of just about everything you make. We cook with your whole milk and drink your 2%, half and half and delicious iced tea! We eat your eggs and have a freezer full of your peanut butter cup ice cream. It is the best and now the ONLY ice cream I will eat.

We pass your farm all the time when we visit our son in Columbia. It is such fun to know that the products we enjoy so much are made locally and that we can actually see the farm.

Keep up the good (but hard, I'm sure) work. Your products are terrific.

My father and I visited your farm last year around this time; I believe you were having some sort of dairy festival and we were granted an excellent tour. I'd love to take my dad, a child of a Maine dairy farmer, to another of the Farmer's Cow farms. Are there any good days to visit in the end of June/early July? Also, which farm might you recommend?

While shopping in our local Newtown Big Y, I came across your products and decided to give your milk and eggs a try. All I can say, it "WOW", and "Outstanding". Having grown up in Newtown, there were still some local farms where you could still get fresh eggs and milk, and it was wholesome. Well, times have changed, land sold, and well, you know the rest.

Your egg yolks are a true deep yellow color and no odor, as they should be, and your milk taste "clean", "fresh" and "wholesome".

I was just putting my milk in the refrigerator and noticed your website on the carton.  I wanted you to know that I go out of my way to always buy Farmer’s Cow.   We live in Waterford and frequently pass one of your farms on the way to our son’s home.  We believe in supporting local farmers and businesses.   We love Farmer’s Cow and wanted you  know that.

When I was younger, my uncle owned a dairy farm in New York and we would visit him often, and I would help milk the cows. That was the best milk I ever tasted! Now, my own children can enjoy the wonderful creamy flavor of "real" milk, from Farmer's Cow.  I know I sound like an advertisement, but your milk brings back memories of my uncle's farm, and I like knowing that my children drink fresh, healthful milk.

I was especially impressed by your philosophy to protect Connecticut as we know it; however, I didn't see anything on your website indicating that the milk is organic.  Can you confirm?

I just wanted to say my son and I so enjoyed the open house in Coventry on 7/15/06. I have lived in Coventry since 1977 whey my family moved here and Hytone Farm has always been one of my favorite places to drive by. I always knew I was home once I came down the hill past the farm. Having the open house was a good way to create local interest in the farms in Connecticut and I enjoyed the tour and found it fascinating. The Farmers Cow milk will now be my choice when shopping.

I was invited to dinner last night – at a family’s home with 2 growing kids. Anyway, instead of bringing my usual two bottles of wine, I bought two containers of your Milk (one quart full and the other one low fat).

Wrapped both in meadow green silk paper and inserted them into a gift bag with a nice big cow face. Inserted a cellophane bag of my homemade cookies, topped it all off with a cute stuffed cow.

It was a hit ! Kids and parents alike loved my moo-bag.

Well, that’s how excited I am about your product. It truly inspired me…. A healthy and fun gift!

I am happy to purchase milk for my family that is local and not shipped from a far distance. Do you use any antibiotics or hormones in your cows? How are your cows treated? Do any of the farms practice organic farming?

 I was wondering if your milk contains growth hormones, pesticides, etc. It doesn’t say so on the box, nor does it need to per-se, but I would like to know. I am a nutritionally-concerned parent who tries to provide as much wholesome and organic food for my family as possible.

Are you coming out with milk in gallon containers? With 3 kids who drink tons of milk, we GOTTA have the skim in gallons. As we finish one half gallon every day or so, it simply creates too much trash and is much more cumbersome to buy/carry/store this size of milk container. The cumulative half gallon price is also a bit high when compared to the gallons in the store, but I would be willing to pay up to $5.99 for a gallon of your milk. Please make this happen.

Response From Our Farmers

Our farms produce fresh, natural, wholesome milk that is free of artificial growth hormones (rBGH). While we are not certified organic we all believe in producing a natural product and feed our cattle high quality home grown forages. Antibiotics are not routinely fed to animals in our herds.  Antibiotics are used in certain situations, under veterinary direction, when animal health requires it. In such cases, the cow is separated from the milking herd until she is healthy and her milk is clean and tests negative to antibiotics. All of our farm members place great emphasis on taking good care of our cows and the land.

The Farmer’s Cow milk is bottled locally, not far from our farms, and doesn’t have to travel long distances to get to the kitchen table.  We hold tours on our farms during the spring, summer and fall.  These tours allow our customers to visit our farms, meet the cows and our farmers, and actually see where The Farmer’s Cow milk comes from.
